The SSB SSB Tar Heels nipped the Chainsaw Proctologists 6 to 5 at the ballpark
in a hard fought contest.
In the top of the 4th inning SSB scored 3 runs when they had 3 base hits.
Derrek Lee led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Alex Rodriguez
stepped up to the plate and he lined a base-hit. B.J. Upton then lined a
single which scored a run. Upton took second on the throw. Gary Sheffield
was up next and he doubled which accounted for two additional runs. Chainsaw
had 12 hits in the game while SSB had 7, but SSB had the more timely hits.
The win went to Curt Schilling(5-0) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Mariano
Rivera was credited with his 24th save. Jason Hirsh(8-5) was hit with the
loss.
